GRADUATIONS

Adriana Crippen graduated on May 13, 2006 from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. While attending the university, Adriana received the Benjamin Banneker Award of Excellence in Mathematics and Science and she made the Dean’s List each year. Despite her challenging course load, Adriana worked in the Dermatology Department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. Her research resulted in the possibility of vitamin D3 effectively detecting prostrate cancer if given in high dosages. She has monitored the atmosphere levels in a simulated space shuttle for NASA’s Aviation Challenge and she researched, analyzed and wrote a paper on the silverside fish. Adriana plans to continue her education in aerospace engineering and become an astronaut.  She is the daughter of the late Calvin Crippen and granddaughter of Fannie Herritage (Vinson).

Nykia J. Nelson graduated on June 27, 2006 from Millard North High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She is the daughter of Crystal Vinson and the Granddaughter of Monroe (Sonny) Vinson.

Tujnisia D. Vinson graduated on June 13, 2006 from Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. She will be attending Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona, Florida.  Tujnisia is the daughter of Darryl and Shelda Vinson and the granddaughter of Robert Vinson.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Two Bits, Four Bits, Six Bits, a Dollar; all for Tiajma stand up and holler!!!!

Nine-year-old Tiajma Hunt-Poindexter has been cheering with the Pop Warner Football League in Wake Forest, NC for the past four years. This year she had the opportunity to cheer with the Spirit of Carolina All Stars. Her team traveled to Virginia, South Carolina and several cities in North Carolina to compete. They placed 1st twice and 2nd three times. Tiajma is the daughter of Mark and Eboni Poindexter and the granddaughter of Arthur and Doris Hunt (Vinson). Way to go Tiajma!!!

TWO HEARTS, ONE LOVE

Calvin D. Crippen and Shenna N. McCarter were united in marriage on July 21, 2006. The couple will reside in Buffalo, NY. Calvin is the son of the late Calvin Crippen and the grandson of Fannie Herritage (Vinson).

On August 13, 2005, Marina Crippen married her African prince Magezi Mukandala.  The couple resides in Wooster, Ma. Marina is the daughter of the late Calvin Crippen and the granddaughter of Fannie Herritage (Vinson).
